Lughnasadh playlist

 

Hello lovelies! 
As the Litha season is coming to an end and Lughnasadh (or Lammas, the first harvest) is right around the corner, I would like to share my Lughnasadh playlist with you all. In the days leading up to Lughnasadh, I shall post more about the first harvest of the year and give you a run down on the lore behind it. But for now I thought I'd put everyone in the mood with a playlist inspired by the season.

You might notice that I barely have any traditional Celtic or Norse pagan music in my playlist. The reasoning behind it is because last year I was looking for an Imbolc playlist to put me in the mood for the season. However, playlists were filled with pagan music and often not necessarily my type of music. As a music lover (I think my girlfriend can vouch for me when I say music is an obsession of mine), it was only natural I would make my own sabbat playlists. So over the course of the seasons I created my own sabbat playlists that I add to as the years go on. 

I did throw some pagan music in the mix, over the months (and thanks to renfairs/sabbat celebrations I have visited) it has grown on me. Every sabbat playlist of mine contains a Lana del Rey and Florence + The Machine song, I mean, come on they are my favourite artists. The theme I adhered to was that of the harvest (both literal and modern), the warmest days of summer (as Lughnasadh falls in the dog days period) and just the slow lethargic summer energy that comes with Lughnasadh. I hope you enjoy it and may it bring you in the Lughnasadh mood!
